DRUM SET
This grouping has added an additional medium to my carving - steel wire. I don't know if it will start a new trend in my work but we shall see as time progresses.
The Base drum is made from Milo, a wood brought to me from Hawaii , the smaller drums are from American Linden (known as Basswood in England) given to me by a friend who removed it locally from his back yard.
The symbols are Birch from my back yard
and all the stands are stove pipe wire.
Size: Base Drum 3"High x 3" Wide x 1-1/2"Deep

DRUMMER (DAN)
The Drummer is carved from Basswood.
The drumsticks are carved from Spruce (Fireplace matches). The Drummer and stool are one piece.
My intention was to make him look like he was showing off, so I carved him twirling one drumstick. I also had to carve him with his legs far enough apart so the Snare Drum could sit between them as well as place one foot so it could play the Base Drum while the other was placed so it could use the double cymbals. Overall he was fun to do and I think I only
cut my fingers once!!
Size: 8-1/2" High x 4-1/2" Wide x 4" Deep
