HARMONICA PLAYER (BILLY-BLOW)
This is my first carving using Cottonwood.
I enjoyed working with it and found that it finished nicely.
This particular piece has grains of purple running through it that gives it an interesting result.
With this carving , I was trying to get more feeling of
movement. I therefore carved him with his head back and as much of an arc in his back as I could. As it turned out , when I did this it threw his arms
/elbows forward and brought his center of gravity forward. When I carved his feet, I found most of his weight is on his toes. He's not unbalanced but will
always have to be set down carefully on a very level surface (Things we learn!!!).
Size: 12-1/2" High x
4-3/4" Wide x 4-1/2" Deep
