HUNTERS' HIDEOUT
This carving idea came to be when I was going to wrap a gift for my son. As he is interested in fishing and hunting, I thought of this as a box to put the gift in.
The wood is Milo and was given to me by my brother after he came back from Hawaii in 1999. It was an odd shape and had a very dark core up the center.
The name I gave it seemed only logical. As the core was very soft, I was able to carve out the inside thus giving a nice space to "hide" something in. The real challenge was to cut off the bottom section to create a plug and make it fit tight enough so that it would stay in place and not fall out while it is being moved around.
